Investment NEVATEAM, a globally renowned consulting firm based in Israel which specializes on drip-irrigation solutions has, through the MoA, invested cutting-edge expertise into the Engineering field of ESWADE. The Engineers from Civil, Water and Agriculture were treated to a two-week rigorous training on and off the field at the LUSIP Offices in Siphofaneni. This ‘boot-camp’ had its main focus on current trends in Drip-Irrigation Design and Maintenance.
The High Value Crop & Horticulture Project (HVCHP) is an agriculture commercialization initiative that aims at growing and exporting crops that are not only market-driven but compliant to international agriculture standards such as GLOBAL G.A.P. Funded by the European Union and implemented by ESWADE & NAMBoard, the project targets poverty alleviation that yields economic growth in the four regions of Eswatini namely Lubombo, Shiselweni, Manzini & Hhohho.
A Brief on HVCHP
Short for High Value Crop & Horticulture Project, the HVCHP is a highly commercialized agriculture initiative funded by the European Union in the tune of 16.6 Million Euros to assist smallholder farmers of Eswatini in producing crops that are in demand from both local and international markets. Housed under ESWADE, this emerging project operates nationwide with a keen focus on creating opportunities for farmers’ produce to access markets.
The structure
Standing at a dominating height of 8.54m with a fencing surround of 200 meters and concrete paving of 58 000 square meters, the structure boasts an unequaled presence immediately visible from the Lavumisa border. It has 19 different rooms each serving specific functions towards quality agriculture produce. It also has a generator, 12 air cons and varying electrical equipments that support its continued overall functionality.
