Knowledge sharing

The AMIS is a collaboration platform for knowledge sharing, a datawarehouse for agricultural marketing data, a business intelligence module, and an alert system for all Subscribers and Stakeholders, complemented with a News and Articles section which brings up to the users fresh information on the agricultural business.
Every user is invited to share their knowledge and experience by writing blog posts and comments, participate on discussion forums, and suggest relevant public domain documents to be included on the digital Library. The ones, searching for answers to their questions and doubts are also invited to post them on the Forum by initiating a new thread (Forum entry). The Forum moderator will try to answer to all questions but any other user is able to do that also. Participation can be anonymous but improper or out-of-context posts will be removed.

The market data:

  • Farmer Plantings and Harvestings by Crop (with dates and estimated yields)
  • Imports
  • Exports
  • Retail Prices
  • Producer Prices

is being captured by the stakeholders and uploaded to the AMIS in a monthly basis. Over this data, the AMIS provides several reports and charts on Planted Area, most demanded crops, Imports and Exports by country, Crop seasonality and Prices variation amongst others.
By having the AMIS as a daily source of information you will improve your decision making process.
